Ottawa’s heavy three-piece THE SPACE BETWEEN release their debut EP today along with focus track “Cut Through”. The self-titled juggernaut comes directly off the heels of the band’s impressive nominations for “Group Of The Year” and “Newcomer Of The Year” at the 2023 Capital Music Awards. Consisting of 5 tracks, it showcases top-of-the-line musicianship, articulate riffs, and soaring melodies. It was recorded at Audio Valley Recording Studios in Ottawa and engineered by Steve Foley (Chad Kroeger, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo-rida) and co-produced by Foley and The Space Between. On the single and the EP release, the band comments, “Cut Through is our oldest song, written back in 2019, and we’re thrilled to finally release it to the public. This piece really kick-started the band to where it is today, so to have it as a feature on our debut EP means a lot to us.”
Having burst onto the music scene with soldout shows in the nation’s capital, The Space Between are reminiscent of groups like Tool and Mammoth WVH. Fiery, heavy, and jam-packed full of bangers with hard-hitting sounds and aggressive guitar work, the EP takes listeners on a journey through themes of life, death, growth, regret, and self-preservation. Earlier this year the group released the first 4 singles, “Your Excuses”, “Time”, “The Cage” & “So Happy”. Formed in 2022 and having already sold-out shows in their home city and Canada’s capital, The Space Between are ones to watch with their visceral blend of hard rock and metal. The group consists of three members, frontwoman and vocalist Maryn Pegan, guitarist James Shaheen and drummer Tom Sergi. Together, their explosive energy and stage presence grabs attention like no other.
