Prog metal virtuoso guitarist Syrek has shared a new music video for his single ‘I Think It’s a Monster’. The song, an eight-minute epic musical journey, is one of the stand-out tracks from Syrek‘s latest concept album Story. The video features the album’s all-star lineup, including Marco Minnemann and Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats), Mohini Dey and Lalle Larsson.

Syrek comments: “At some point, I had the story of Story coming together and I had a bunch of tunes written, but I didn’t have a song to jump out towards the beginning of the album, to grab people’s attention and bring them into this world i had created. Something that would set the tone of the album and introduce not only the characters of the story, but the characters playing the music of the story. So I set out to write a song that would do just that. After I had written the intro to ‘I Think It’s a Monster’, I jokingly thought “man, this is really turning out to be a monster”, and then it suddenly came to me that the characters in Story, as one of their first experiences too, encounter a big monster. The song pretty much wrote itself from that point. It was a really cool and satisfying way to write, with the music and the story both helping to navigate each other.“
