Puteraeon release “The Cthulhian Pulse: Call From The Dead City” in November |
To put it plain and simple, Puteraeon is one of the best old-school death metal bands from Sweden nowadays. And we’re talking Sweden, home of bands such as Nihilist, Grave or Dismember. Puteraeon carries the tradition of all things obscure and, on album No. 4, delve (even) deeper into H.P. Lovecraft dark world and emerge with “The Cthulhian Pulse: Call From The Dead City”, a collection of ten tracks which are easily the most mature the band have done so far. Mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who has the following to say about the album: “One of the better Death Metal albums I have ever mixed. I just love the mysterious and more adventurous musical arrangements, yet keeping the raw and brutal HM2 SweDeath vibe intact as a back bone. Excellent musicianship all over and easily their best release so far!”. “The Cthulhian Pulse” oozes with darkness, but bring also out a more melodic side to Puteraeon, making it one of the death metal candidates for album of the year. It will be released in digital, CD and vinyl formats. “The Cthulhian Pulse: Call From The Dead City” will be released in CD, LP (green vinyl, limited to 500) and digital formats on November 13th and can be pre-ordered here and here. |
Puteraeon was formed in 2008 by guitarist & vocalist Jonas Lindblood (Taetre) and the did three demos between 2008 and 2009. In the meantime, and before recording the debut album “The Esoteric Order”, he put up a solid line-up. Shortly after the debut album hit the streets, the band hit the stage and it was a one-way road to success within the old-school death metal genre. In early 2012 the second full-length album, “Cult Cthulhu” (the second also mastered by Andy LaRoque) was released. The band quickly started another round of gigs. A split 7” with Revel In Flesh was released in 2014, before Puteraeon release album No. 3 “The Crawling Chaos” in the same year. The EPs “The Empires Of Death” & “The Dunwitch Damnation” were the band’s following releases, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Line up: Jonas Lindblood – guitar, vocals Daniel Vandija – bass Anders Malmström – drums Rune Foss – guitar, backing vocals Web: Official site |
