DEBUT ALBUM BETWEEN ME AND THE MACHINE OUT NOVEMBER 26 ON ARISING EMPIRE
RESOLVE have shared the video for new song “D.G.G.R.S.” Watch and listen here
The song appears on Resolve’s debut album, Between Me and the Machine, out November 26 via Arising Empire. The album will be available on CD, as limited vinyl, and with special bundles.
“D.G.G.R.S’ is very much the ‘party song’ on the album,” says bassist Robin Mariat. “It came towards the very end of the writing process, and it’s one of the few that was created by the three of us in the same room. I remember (drummer) Nathan (Mariat) jumping up and down in the studio as if he was at a show to figure out the right tempo for the track — 116bpm, if you really want to know!”
The bassist continues, “Lyrically, though, it’s quite the opposite: ‘D.G.G.R.S’ is us giving a big middle finger toward those who wo’’t be around to suffer the consequences of their actions on our dying planet. But notice the use of the first person plural within the lyrics: We’re all part of the problem to a degree, and we should be praising those who strive to do better instead of getting lost in silly debates about who’s right and who’s wrong. There’s just no time for this anymore.”
“Welcome to the wonderful century / Join the crowd and starts walking backwards / Exponential growth at the expense of humanity / Here we stab ourselves with our own daggers“

Starting their journey back in 2016 after their previous projects had parted ways and their intentions were set on this being their forever band, vocalist AnthonyDiliberto, bassist Robin Mariat, and drummer NathanMariat have spent the last half-decade tinkering with the formula that feels the most suited to them. Making their first mark in 2017 with debut EP Reverie before following with standalone single “Carmela” in 2018, it wasn’t until 2019 that they felt truly at home in their sound. That was in the form of Pendulum, a collection of three songs that not only represented the beautifully bludgeoning and densely expansive sound that was resting in the back of their heads but that also found them appearing on Spotify’s New Core, New Metal Tracks, and Kickass Metal playlists. The band is now ready to take that next step forward with Between Me and the Machine.
