The Brazilian band Sour Brandy released their debut album ‘Unglory’, and today they release the last single from the disc, “Let it Die”, with a video clip that shows all the energy and sound that the band wants to show. Sour Brandy proposes to bring the mentality and aesthetics of the old west, with a timeless sound that mixes the band’s diverse influences.

“Let it Die” brings a concept of how depression can occur inside someone’s mind, and here it is told in the skin of someone living in the wild west era. The lyrics tell an anguish and suffering so great, that the way the instruments and the voice are expressed during the music in the form of waves, where that person tries to fight to forget and overcome the past, but something always pursues him like a shadow”, said the band.

‘Unglory’, was released on April 28th, although it was composed 2 years ago. “We started in early 2020, however with the pandemic, there were postponements until completion at the end of 2022. These postponements gave us the opportunity to add some ideas both in terms of composition and mixing”, comments the band.

Sour Brandy was formed in 2017 in the city of Atibaia, in Sao Paulo, Brazil members Adrian Godoy (guitar and vocals), Luis Victor (bass) and former member Jonas Oliveira (drums), who recently left the band, giving way to drummer Gustavo Gumerato. The band gave stoner and heavy metal a new look, taking influences from bands like Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Motorhead, Pride&Glory, Pantera, Black Stone Cherry, Mudvayne, Blues Saraceno, The Devil Makes Three and more.

The band draws attention for its sound and visual characteristics, artistic compositions for the stage and clothing, being based on the wild west with a rustic touch from motorcycle clubs. In 2019, they released their first work entitled ‘Along’, a six-track EP that was released in physical and digital media. The concept of the EP was to deal with the changing emotions of everyday life, from extreme happiness, as in the track “Rise Your Beer”, to extreme hatred in the case of “Hate”.

From 2017 to 2019, there was an intense work of shows, both in performances in the underground environment, where they often participate in events promoted by Rarozine magazine, and in shows promoted by motorcycle clubs. The apex and one of the last events was the opening of the singer Supla’s show in 2019 in Atibaia-SP.

The debut album ‘Unglory’ marks a new stage in the history of Sour Brandy, with the new member, the change in visual identity and the goals and more concise objective to establish a strong identity and nail the name in the heavy music scene.
