The Simón Bolívar Symphonic Rock Orchestra (ORSSB), under the expert baton of conductor Luis Rodríguez Aray, is poised to deliver an extraordinary performance with their upcoming concert, “Heaven and Hell”. This symphonic tribute to the legends of Rock and Metal will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Center for Social Action Through Music in Caracas, Venezuela.
This concert promises a sonic journey that traverses the timeless classics of rock and ventures into the depths of contemporary metal. The performance will seamlessly blend the raw power of rock with the refined elegance of a symphony orchestra, crafting a unique atmosphere that promises to be unforgettable. The repertoire will feature iconic song bands such as Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Black Sabbath. Adding to this stellar lineup, the Venezuelan Death Doom Metal band Stratuz will make a special guest appearance, performing tracks from their latest album, “Osculum Pacis”.
Stratuz holds a distinguished place in the Venezuelan metal scene. Founded in 1984, they are pioneers of extreme metal in the country and are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. After a period of silence, Stratuz has re-emerged with a powerful new album that intricately weaves choral and symphonic arrangements with their signature intensity. The album has achieved significant acclaim, securing the top spot on Jacquin Ravens Top 50 Metal on the U.S. radio station 99WNRR. Additionally, it garnered two Pepsi Music Awards in 2023 for “Best Rock Artist” and “Best Rock Album”, alongside four “Metal Hecho en Venezuela Awards”. The album has also been reissued on CD by European label Wormholedeath Records and Wormholedeath Records Japan.
The event is produced by the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, which operates under the auspices of the Simón Bolívar Musical Foundation. This globally recognized program for musical excellence is venturing into the realm of rock to offer audiences a show that marries the electrifying energy of electric guitars with the rich complexity of orchestral arrangements.
“Heaven and Hell” is more than just a concert; it explores musical boundaries that unite rock and classical music fans.
