The Tapestry Waters is the new EP from STUDIO GRANDIOSE. The metal based project draws upon dark ambient synths and orchestral elements to produce a haunting and ethereal sound.

“The Tapestry Waters is about exploring waters on an otherworldly plant; speculation of what life and events could exist. The base idea was an improvisation with an ambient synth. I decided to use a cosmos concept because the synth emitted that feeling.  Around it, I wanted to create environments reminiscent of the place. Granular synthesis fascinated me, and it was an experiment and focus on this release. I used it to transform sounds and generate ‘particles’ or ‘matter’ in a way. The synth was also modified this way, and granular tools and reverb brought about a new layer sonically.

This was purely a passion project of mine, and I thoroughly enjoyed creating it. It was also a cathartic relief from the pressures of life, which I’m sure we can all relate to.” – Nathan Gross
