THE MELVINS STREAM NEW SONG “STOP MOVING TO FLORIDA” FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM, PINKUS ABORTION TECHNICIAN (APRIL 20, IPECAC RECORDINGS)

The Melvins, who recently announced the April 20 release of new album Pinkus Abortion Technician (via Ipecac Recordings) will feature two bass players: Steven McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), share the album’s lead-off track, “Stop Moving To Florida” (http://smarturl.it/MelvinsPinkus).

The song is a medley of the James Gang’s “Stop” and Butthole Surfers’ “Moving To Florida,” which Osborne explains, “I wanted to do the song ‘Stop’ but I didn’t want to do all of it and I LOVE ‘Moving to Florida’ so ‘Stop Moving To Florida’ seemed perfect.” Pre-orders for the eight-song album are available now (http://smarturl.it/MelvinsPinkus) with digital pre-orders including an instant download of “Stop Moving To Florida.”

The Melvins have also announced a 10-week North American tour, kicking off on April 26 at the Casbah in San Diego. The trek will feature the Melvins as a four-piece with both Pinkus and McDonald joining Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover.
