Thor Bassist Releases New Single
Mystigaard’s New Single “The Painter of Lore” Is Now Available on All Major Streaming Services
Heavy metal band Mystigaard, featuring Thor bassist Ted Jedlicki, has released its new single “The Painter of Lore” on all major streaming services. Taking traditional heavy metal and sprinkling in elements of power metal, the group seeks to share its passion for metal music with headbangers everywhere!

This new band was started by bassist Ted Jedlicki, who composed and recorded songs during downtime from Thor, and vocalist Terry Westerman. Joining the two on the new single are special guests Eric Juris (Warlord, ex-Crystal Viper) and virtuoso Hedras Ramos on guitars, along with Hugo Ribeiro (Moonspell) on drums. The song is dedicated to the memory of fallen friend, and avid metal fan, Kevin “SpaceKev” Suchy.
Ted Jedlicki is best known for being the bassist since 2017 for cult classic heavy metal band Thor. With Thor, he toured across the U.S. and Canada and played massive festivals in Europe. Jedlicki has been a supporting act for such well known bands as Ghost, Sabaton, Testament, and Amaranthe, among others. His best-known recordings are from Thor’s 2021 album Alliance, which featured special guests Björn Strid (Soilwork / The Night Flight Orchestra), Ross The Boss (Ex-Manowar), and John Gallagher (Raven). Jedlicki also composed and recorded some of the soundtrack for the 2022 action film Pact of Vengeance. More recently, Jedlicki has played multiple US metal festivals with traditional metal band Chamber Mage.
Terry Westerman has a long career in the music industry, singing and playing guitar with numerous groups. He and Jedlicki began working together through mutual Thor connections, eventually leading to Westerman adding backing vocals to the previously mentioned Alliance album.
Mystigaard will make its live debut at the Legions of Metal festival at Reggies in Chicago (May 2nd and May 3rd), along with Crimson Glory, Seven Spires, and many others. The group continues to write and record songs for their full-length debut, to be released later this year.
