Band formed in the city of Belém do Pará in the year 2010 by Hugo Andrey. Having a very strong taste for heavy metal bands, Hugo Andrey also played and an old and well-known band on the local and national scene called Retaliatory (death / thrash), decided to form THUNDERSPELL after leaving the Retaliatory.
At the beginning of the band there were many changes of members, which was natural because THUNDERSPELL sought people who identified with the musical proposal of the same. After a few years of searching, the band finds stability with the entrance of experienced musicians coming from other bands of the local scene of the metal paraense. The band was formed by Bruno Tavares (guitar), Leo Rodrigues (vocals), Bruno Gibson (bass), Paulo Wallace (drums) and Hugowar Andrey (guitar).
At the end of 2012 THUNDERSPELL released a demo CD with 4 songs, and this demo provided the band to perform a mini tour in 2013 by the state of SP, playing in 4 cities (Guarulhos, Santa Gertrudes, Indaiatuba and Campinas). Even with little training time THUNDERSPELL has already gained a great recognition within the Heavy Metal scene. In 2014 the band had an agenda of 25 shows, playing in several cities throughout the state of Pará, Macapá and Maranhão. THUNDERSPELL’s maturation and professionalism provided the band with the opening of some international heavy metal bands such as Skull Fist (CAN), Enforcer (SUE), Steelwing (SUE), Tank (ING), Angra (BRA) and UDO (ALE).
In 2015, THUNDERSPELL independently released the first OFFICIAL CD entitled BATTLE SCREAM with 9 (nine) copyrighted songs. As a way to promote the BATTLE SCREAM CD, in the same year the band released their first video clip (Shadow Zone) and in less than a year exceeded 10,000 views on YouTube, this is a significant mark for a band from the Underground scene and shows that band is on the rise. So much so that THUNDERSPELL has gained space in several radios specialized in Heavy Metal scattered around the world, being always in the programming of radios of countries like USA, CANADA, MEXICO, GUATEMALA, GERMANY, BELGIUM, SPAIN, GREECE, FRANCE, PORTUGAL, ENGLAND, JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA.
In December 2016, THUNDERSPELL was invited to play in the first edition of MANIACS METAL MEETING, one of the biggest Brazilian heavy metal festivals, held in RIO NEGRINHO – SC. Being that the band was the unique representative of the North Region, next to great names of the national metal, like HIBRIA, PORK RATS, CLAUSTROPHOBIA, VULCADO, VIOLATOR, etc.
In 2017 THUNDERSPELL was invited to participate in the CD Tributo ao MOTORHEAD (GOING TO BRAZIL …. THE BRAZILIAN TRIBUTE TO MOTORHEAD) of the English label SECRET SERVICE RECORDS, being again the only representative band of the North Region alongside great names of the Brazilian metal THUNDERSPELL was responsible for the version of ONE NIGHT STAND, being one of the highlights of the CD according to Roadie Crew Review.
Due to the excellent performance on CD Tributo to MOTORHEAD, THUNDERSPELL was again invited by SECRET SERVICE RECORDS to participate in another CD Tributo of the English label. This time the homage is to the Gods of Rock N ‘Roll AC / DC on CD FOR THOSE ABOUT TO BRAZIL … THE BRAZILIAN TRIBUTE TO AC / DC, with worldwide release in 2018. THUNDERSPELL will be responsible for the classic Heatseeker album Blow Up Your Video.
Now in 2018, the band is preparing to release an EP in July. The work already has a definite title, and will be called “POWER, BLOOD AND GLORY”, which will feature five songs, one unpublished, two covers and two bonus live tracks, recorded at the closing show “BATTLE SCREAM TOUR” at the Waldemar Henrique Theater in December 2017. THUNDERSPELL is finalizing the songwriting process for the new album, and will be entering the studio in August to begin recording the band’s second album, still untitled.
The band is motivated, focused and full of plans for the future, wanting to show their work to Brazil and to the world.
