Manchester-based tech-metalcore group Asleep At The Helm have shared a hefty brand new single, titled “Tarnished“, alongside a blood-soaked official music video directed by Kieran Gallop (GLKMedia).
Speaking on the new single, the band states “Tarnished explores the end of friendships and relationships damaged by ignorance, arrogance, narcissism, and abuse, and the inevitable pain that follows. The song represents a journey of growth, rebirth, and renewed passion for overcoming adversity, as well as the struggle to save something broken beyond repair.”
They continue, “It reconnects with the core values Asleep at the Helm has always stood for, marking a new era for the band. Join us.”
With a biting and dynamic contrast of soaring melodicism and rampant brutality, Asleep At The Helm‘s boundary-pushing take on nu-metal and tech-inspired metalcore is exemplified in full force on “Tarnished“, showcasing their utmost strengths as a unit.
The release of “Tarnished” will be supported by a single release tour across their home territory in the North of England, with support from High Wycombe metalcore exports This Dying Hour. The single release tour’s official poster can be viewed below, and tickets can be found here.
The single’s release also follows the group’s recent UK tour alongside Parting With Origin, which saw the group venture further into the midlands and the South, hitting Derby, Leicester and Cambridge. The release further follows vocalist Jimmy Dahmer‘s recent feature on After Smoke Clears‘ newly-released rager “Serenity“, which dropped last month via self-release. You can find the official music video for “Serenity” here.
