Los Angeles, California power-thrash metal band ANUBIS will be releasing their new independent EP “Decreation Day” on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Anubis – “Decreation Day” (2023)

  1. Crucify (J. Escamilla/D. Reiche)
  2. Decreation Day (D. Reiche)

The band comments:

Bassist Will Buckley:

“I had a great time recording both of these tracks. It’d been a little while since I played bass on songs this “athletic”, with the slower of the 2 still clocking in at over 200 bpm, but it didn’t take me long to feel at home with them. I’m a power metal / melodic death guy through and through, so naturally Anubis’s musical style was right up my alley. I’ stoked to be part of this band and excited for what we’ll accomplish together.”

Vocalist Devin Reiche:

“Anubis’s latest release demonstrates it’s unique ability to cover all the metal bases from thrashy riffs to melodic choruses. Listeners can expect a variety of melody and aggression through the grizzly attack of both shred maestros Eleazar Llerenas and Justin Escamilla.”

Guitarist – Justin Escamilla

“These songs evoke the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in these clashing tracks of light and dark.”

ANUBIS band Line-Up:

Devin Reiche – Vocals (Ex-HATCHET)
Justin Escamilla – Guitar (Ex-TOWER GUARD)
Eleazar Llerenas – Guitar (Ex-TIMMO TOLKKI solo band)
Will Buckley – Bass (HYDERA)

Biography

ANUBIS is a new rising force in the Los Angeles metal scene. Featuring veterans of local Los Angeles bands as well as international/touring bands, ANUBIS combines the speed and aggression of thrash metal bands like Megadeth, Testament, Havok with the twin guitar attack and soaring vocals of melodic metal like Helloween, Savatage, and Iron Maiden. After releasing their debut EP “Ashes” in 2019, it’s follow-up self-titled EP in 2020, and the “Hurricane of Hate” EP in 2021, ANUBIS is preparing to take its brand of metal to all of California, and the world.

ANUBIS takes their musicianship seriously. Guitarists Justin Escamilla and Eleazar Llerenas are both classically trained, Bassist/vocalist Devin Reiche was originally the bassist for international thrash band Hatchet, and drummer Zed Amarin of Jordanian death metal band Esodic is a spokesman for Axis Percussion. They credit artists from across the metal spectrum as influences in their music: Blind Guardian, Helloween, Nevermore, Metallica, Black Dahlia Murder, and Dead Kennedys to name a few. This melting pot of metal sounds sets them apart and garners excitement from fans and audiences.

ANUBIS has its sights on making an impact on 2022. With dozens of new singles in the works, and plans to expand into surrounding cities and states from Texas and Louisiana all the way up to Washington, ANUBIS is looking forward to keeping the flame burning.
