DEAD QUIET ANNOUNCE TOUR IN SUPPORT OF UPCOMING ALBUM, ‘IV’ – OUT JUNE 9TH VIA ARTOFFACT RECORDS
Vancouver-based doom metal mercenaries DEAD QUIET have announced a Canadian tour in support of their upcoming album ‘IV’ with Mares of Thrace on select dates! All dates listed below.
Ripping across the West Coast of Canada, these shows are sure to leave the eight cities it will hit in blissful ruin. Joining forces with Mares of Thrace on three of the dates, the energy is positive to be through the roof on this tour, with the bands’ excitement ever-growing.
On the tour, vocalist Kevin Keegan comments: “We haven’t left the province as a band since before the pandemic so we are very much looking forward to seeing friends and fans again. Getting to play these new songs and songs from Truth and Ruin, which we never got to play out of province, will be such a pleasure. Looking forward to linking up with our homies in Mare Of Thrace for a few of these shows as well!”

The band has been busy releasing singles in anticipation of the full release on June 9th. For a preview of the album and what you can expect to hear on tour, check out the three singles that are out now, ‘High Roads’, ‘The Hanging Man’, and ‘No Gods, No Gold’, below. Each take listeners on their respective journeys with a soundtrack full of bluesy keyboard riffs and raspy, catching vocals, leaving them itching for the next track to drop!
On their most recent single, ‘No Gods, No Gold’, Keegan comments on coming out of a feeling highly relatable to so many: “The pandemic took the wind out of a lot of band’s sails and this song is sort of a reflection of that; us sitting on some ideas, hoping we get to write and perform them again together some day. The song becomes a victorious anthem of powering through some dark times and seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.”

Not wasting any time disguising itself as anything other than a heavy-hitting classic rock ‘n’ roll track, ‘High Roads’ leaves listeners feeling introspective with lyrics like “No time like the present/No time for defeat”, and is jam-packed with grungy guitars and ripping keyboard riffs. ‘The Hanging Man’ follows suit, reflecting on feeling like a scapegoat and punching bag for other people’s struggles, when one is not able to take responsibility for their own actions.
‘IV’ will follow September 2020’s ‘Truth and Ruin’, which was a favourite of Exclaim! Magazine, Beatroute, V13, and more – reaching #1 on the National Canadian Campus Radio (Loud) and also being featured on CBC Rock Canada.
On the album, Keegan says “This, our 4th album, feels like the most fully explored of any of them. We really arranged everything as a group and it has the most character because of that. It’s definitely an adventure.”
