Øutline is a Finnish Hard Rock band. The current line-up has been playing together since 2022. It is unclear how long the band had existed before that. They have toured extensively across their home country in particular. They have also released seven singles so far. Their debut EP, ‘Flee ‘n Forget’, was released in April.
In ‘Flee ‘n Forget’, the riffs immediately hit the listener with full force, backed by Aaron Hietanemi’s powerful voice. At the start of ‘Bite The Bullet’, the guitars sound quiet and technically distorted at first. But then a mid-tempo rocker kicks in, with a chorus that invites you to sing along. The longest track on the album, ‘Winds Thrive High’, begins as a contemplative acoustic ballad. Later, electric guitars and gentle drumming join in. Naturally, there’s also a quiet guitar solo. The next track bears the simple title ‘925’. The song itself, however, is far from simple. Quite the opposite. Here, things get really heavy and fast. At times, the drums and guitar sound slightly thrash-like. And Aaron Hietaniemi lets out some Metal screams. The closing track ‘Moonlight’ really rocks out once more. The highlight is a huge guitar solo.
The EP features twenty-two minutes of rousing Hard Rock, apart from the ballad ‘Winds Thrive High’, which breaks up the album with some quieter moments. By the end, you’ll find yourself wanting to press the ‘replay’ button again and again. Øutline are preparing the way here for a full-length studio album.
