Past Damnation, originating from the United Kingdom (Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire), formed in 2023, crafting a crushing and cathartic sound.
Their proposal blends the raw energy of metalcore with melodic hooks, relentless grooves, and clean vocals, quickly carving out their own space within the UK heavy music scene.
The band’s name came up during a brainstorming session while Phoenix was in college, inspired by a phrase he created about past traumas:
“Live in the past, and the damned will rise.”
This play on words gave birth to the name Past Damnation.
They decided to keep the name through the years as a reminder of their beginnings and everything they’ve been through.
Their latest track, “Edge Of Reason”, written by Jamie,Phoenix, Danny, James and Tristan , explores the feeling of being trapped in circumstances that seem impossible to overcome—those that hold back personal growth.
The song speaks about finding light in the midst of adversity and reclaiming control of one’s life, even in the hardest moments.
