THE MATERIA are a four-piece band from Szczecinek, Poland, who have spent well over a decade consistently building their own identity within the Polish heavy music scene. The band’s roots date back to 2007. From the very beginning, the group have embraced a modern approach to metal, combining powerful riffs, progressive structures, groove, electronics and emotional heaviness with memorable songwriting and explosive live energy.

Over the years, THE MATERIA have developed a distinctive sound that moves between modern metal, metalcore, djent and alternative aggression while avoiding predictable genre conventions. The band are known for their intense live performances and constant musical experimentation, bringing together heaviness and atmosphere, as well as technical precision and genuine emotion.

THE MATERIA have never been afraid to cross stylistic boundaries, creating music that is heavy, contemporary and emotionally uncompromising. With four full-length albums already in their catalogue, the band are now presenting their latest release, “We Against Us – Prologue”. The band recorded the new material independently, while the album was mixed and mastered by Konrad Janiszewski, known for his work with bands such as Heresy Denied and Sour Blood.

The physical edition of the album is available exclusively today, August 28, 2026, during the 14th edition of MateriaFest. The album will receive its digital release on September 17, 2026.

The new release is promoted by the singles “1984”, “Declaration Of Hate” and the latest track, “Hurt”. The music video for “Hurt” was created by Art Paradox.

On October 16, 2026, THE MATERIA will embark on the “Piekło i nie bo Tour” across Poland alongside DEMETED, a band delivering aggressive and ferocious metalcore.
