As Post Pulse prepares for the release of its third album, the band reveals the album’s title by releasing its title track, “Lupaus” (“Promise”). The band surprises listeners with the first song they have ever written in Finnish. At the same time, “Lupaus” showcases an even heavier and catchier approach to their sound.
The song “Lupaus” perfectly captures the essence of the album’s stories and atmosphere — a space that grows tighter moment by moment, desperate actions, fear, arrogance, dominance, addictions, and ultimately death.
“With this album, I was more involved in writing the lyrics as well. Writing in my native language is enjoyable, and I believe the song’s intensity and energetic delivery will resonate even with listeners outside our small language area. When writing the lyrics, I first painted a picture of a peaceful Finnish idyll with its red cottages. Then I slightly pulled back the curtain of one cottage, carefully looked inside, and wrote down exactly what I saw,” comments the band’s primary songwriter and guitarist, Antti Karhu.
“Lupaus” also received a dark visual interpretation in a one-take performance video directed and filmed by Allan Välimaa. The stylishly executed video was edited by Antti Karhu.
The album Lupaus, set for release on May 29, is the third full-length from Post Pulse, a band formed in 2015. The record continues the band’s musical evolution toward an even more melodic, catchy, and expansive production.
The upcoming album was recorded, mixed, and produced by Juhis Kauppinen, known among other things as the driving force behind the band Merta.
