Colombian metal band Primal Sinner announces the release of the single “Oedipus” this Friday, February 20th. The track marks the evolution of the group’s creative cycle and is a first glimpse of their upcoming album, ‘DRÂMA’.

In this new work, Primal Sinner reaffirms its proposition that music is more than entertainment, being understood as language and experience, where sound, narrative, and reflection walk together.

“Oedipus” was conceived under a Parnassian creative energy (focused on “art for art’s sake”), being produced by brothers Fabian and Jhon Tejada, mixed by Jens Bogren (Sepultura, Arch Enemy, Testament, Opeth) and mastered by Bob Katz.

Fabian Tejada comments on the track’s creation process:

“As the piece unfolded, this musical energy began to suggest something timeless, almost ancient. Naturally, it resonated with stories that have inhabited the human imagination for thousands of years. This connection led us to the figure of Oedipus\, one of the oldest and most emblematic tragic characters, who seemed to embody the timeless force present in the music.

However, instead of retelling the classic narrative, we felt that this character could speak differently to contemporary ears. The music became an opportunity to reinterpret Oedipus, to shift the perspective and explore his story in a way that reflects a more modern and introspective understanding of chance, destiny, and tragedy.”

The track reveals a broader and more mature approach compared to previous releases, evidencing the group’s growth and maturity.

“Primal Sinner’s growth has been shaped more by significant experiences than by a long list of milestones. One of the most relevant achievements has been our ability to interact with the music industry from the perspective of creators and producers, and to work at a truly professional level”, concluded Fabian Tejada.

Primal Sinner, is a Colombian metal band formed by the brothers Fabian and Jhon Tejada, based his creation on the principles of classical music, seeking an artistic and dramatic approach to heavy metal, elevating it to the category of art within the entertainment industry.

The name Primal Sinner symbolizes the human condition after the rupture with the Original Unity: a being in conflict, divided, and incomplete. The band reflects the incessant search to reconcile this existential dissonance, often achieving a momentary glimpse of unity through experiences like art.

With a strong humanistic and conceptual foundation, the group debuted in 2019 with the album ‘Dying Like the Sun in the West’. This production sought international standards and featured the collaboration of Swedish producer Jens Bogren and American mastering engineer Bob Katz.

Since his formation, the band has accumulated significant experience, performing two tours in Colombia (2022 and 2024) and sharing the stage with local scene icons (such as Kraken, Nepenthes, Gaias Pendulum and Masacre), as well as international heavyweight artists such as Stratovarius, Therion and Fabio Lione.

Following the release of an acoustic audiovisual EP, Primal Sinner starts 2026 with the release of its new album, ‘DRÂMA’. The new work is supported by an aesthetic triad of strength, beauty, and poetry, with thematic development inspired by classical music.

‘DRÂMA’ cames to provide the listener with a deep and accessible cinematic experience, addressing dense narratives without losing emotional impact. To promote the album, the band will organize an innovative and unprecedented live experience in the Colombian metal scene: a listening party at the YAWA Planetarium Dome. In this conceptual event, music, space, and immersive visual resources will converge. This performance will mark the beginning of a progressive digital release, with the album tracks being revealed monthly.
