Progressive post-metallers LAUDARE have released “Fireflies”, the first single off their upcoming full-length album “I Am the Wood I Burn to Warm My Bones”, which is set for release on February 5 via Moment of Collapse Records.

Combining melancholic soundscapes, emotional intensity and intricate musical arrangements, “Fireflies” explores the process of reconnecting with one’s inner child. Moving seamlessly between moments of fragility and overwhelming emotional force, the track offers permission to be loud, to feel sadness, and to embrace anger without shame. With a deeply human sense of vulnerability at its core, LAUDARE turn introspection into an empowering journey of self-acceptance and healing.

With “I Am the Wood I Burn to Warm My Bones”, LAUDARE continue to carve out their own musical territory, weaving post-rock, progressive rock, metal, folk and classical influences into a sound that refuses to settle into a single genre. Built around three voices, guitar, bass and cello, the band balance delicate, intimate passages with bold, expansive arrangements, allowing melody to intertwine and evolve rather than follow familiar structures. The result is music that feels fragile yet forceful, with a bittersweet melancholy running through its shifting dynamics and layered textures.

On their new album LAUDARE turn inward, exploring the contradictions of being alive with unflinching honesty and poetic depth. Moving between emancipation and self-doubt, the search for meaning and the fear of finally finding it, the album traces the fragile, often painful process of becoming oneself – only to lose one’s footing and begin again.

Introspection lies at the heart of these songs. Grief becomes a force for healing, failure a necessary condition for growth, and the self both creator and creature, capable of nurturing its own existence while consuming itself in the process. The title track captures this tension with striking clarity: burning to feel alive can be both sustaining and destructive. Even in its darkest moments, the album leaves room for renewal.

True to LAUDARE’s poetic approach, these themes unfold through a musical language that resists easy categorisation, drawing from post-rock, progressive rock, metal, folk and classical traditions. Fragile and forceful, melancholic yet searching – “I Am the Wood I Burn to Warm My Bones” is an intimate meditation on healing, self-discovery and the difficult freedom of learning to live without illusions.
