Reverya are a mystical trio from Tampa (Florida). At least that’s what you can read in the press release. According to the same source, the sound ranges from ethereal sounds to thunderous roars. Founded in 2022, the debut EP ‘Melinoe’ was released one year later. In October of last year, the band released the digital version of their first album ‘Affliction In Bloom’. The CD will now follow on October 24th, 2025.

‘Allium’ is the Latin name for the plant genus “leek”. Gentle acoustic guitars sound. The soft, ethereal vocals of a woman’s voice can be heard. After a quiet start with ‘Wisteria’, Nadine shows her vocal qualities, accompanied by hard riffs. Towards the end, the vocals sound just as poisonous as this plant species probably is. ‘Pyrophyte’ also describes a variety of plants that are quite resistant to fire. The guitars at the beginning sound like an alarm signal. And Nadine screams her heart out. But later you can also enjoy her clear, powerful voice. ‘Forget Me Not’ is introduced by gentle piano and string sounds. The vocals seem fragile at times. But as soon as the guitar and drums kick in, the beautifully catchy vocals become more powerful. The crowning glory is a very melodic guitar solo. ‘Dahlia’ is a typical autumn flower. The sombre mood of this very emotional song fits in with this. Here, Nadine once again celebrates the interplay of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ acting as herself. And the guitar solo is heavily distorted. ‘Lilly’ is a short interlude that builds a bridge between “Dahlia” and “Asphodel” (a lily plant) – characterised by sparse instrumentation and beguiling vocals. In the aforementioned ‘Asphodel’ (Asphodelus), the drums bang and the guitars screech. At least at the beginning. Then Nadine’s beguiling vocals can be heard again, alternating with evil screams. The final song ‘Magnolia’ is characterised by the calm synth and acoustic guitar sounds. Nadine’s voice seduces once again. A calm and soulful end to the album.

On ‘Affliction In Bloom’, the listener experiences an immense rollercoaster of emotions. Emotional, melodic parts are contrasted with brutal and aggressive sections. And not just in the instrumentation, but also and above all in the vocals. Nadine shows an enormous vocal range here. From contemplative, even beguiling vocals to brutal growls.
