Abandon All hail from Finland and play Heavy Metal. The band was founded in 2020 and the line-up seemed to be complete one year later. Three singles were released in 2022 before the debut album “Far Away” was published in March 2023. And just one year later, the Finns followed up with the EP “Strong”.

“The Wolf And The Owl” is Classic Power Metal, with a singer who shows off her Rock voice to full effect. In addition to subtle double bass passages, there is also a nice guitar solo. The title track “Strong” features huge guitar hooks and various riffs. It is otherwise very melodic. “Fake You” is similarly melodic, yet very rhythmic. Choruses provide an anthemic touch. “37500” – a number as a song title? At least the track is calmer. An instrumental ballad with clean guitars and strings.

“Strong” is an EP worth listening to. Abandon All play pleasing Melodic Power Metal without any rough edges. This puts them in illustrious company. The band obviously shies away from the risk of straying off the beaten track. There is certainly more to come.
