Concert events are canceled not only in Germany, but worldwide. The musicians, clubs and organizers are always looking for new ways to keep cultural life going. The latest example is the live stream show from Evol Walks from California. The band around the Australian singer Leah Martin-Brown was given the opportunity to perform in The Bourbon Room in Hollywood.
The band stood on stage for almost forty minutes. So, enough time to present some songs from their album debut “Our Time Is Now”. There were also songs from the 2016 EP “The Other Side” as well as previously unreleased material. The band is currently working on a second studio album. So, there was probably a small premiere with the new release “Sleeping With A Ghost”. Front shouter Leah kept headbanging her red lion’s mane. With her powerful voice and her stage presence, she is clearly the band’s figurehead. And their colleagues shone with a lot of joy in playing and great musicality. Heavy riffs, lots of guitar solos, oppressive bass and forward pushing drums provide fun for a lot. That was Live Rock at its best. As with other live streams, you could clearly see that the musicians are blessed to be on stage again. But also, the strange feeling of playing in front of an empty hall. Sound and light were excellent, for which I would like to thank everyone involved. Hopefully we will be able to face the artists again as soon as possible.
