It was in 2010 when former members of the bands Stormwitch, Abraxas and Coronatus met for a jam session. And decided to form a new band. A singer was quickly found in Selin Schönbeck. Two years later, the self-titled debut EP was released. Another year later, the first album “Rise Of The Legend” followed. And that was it for now, although the reviews were very good. In 2016, the band officially disbanded. Despite all this, mastermind Dirk Baur and the singer continued to work on new song material. New comrades-in-arms were found, and the second album “Fallen Angel” was produced.

“Tale Of A Legend” starts very melodic. The vocals sound rough and scratchy at first. But Selin Schönbeck soon proves that he is an excellent singer. At the beginning of “Fallen Angel” you can also hear him on the piano, before powerful riffs take over. He sings here in a duet with the Italian singer Eleonora. She switches between a dark timbre and a rock voice. I would like to hear more of this collaboration. Later, there is an excellent guitar solo. The guitars sound a bit dissonant at first, but later on “I Dont Care” becomes a slightly progressive but still melodic rock song. Again, there is a very elaborate guitar solo. “Angel Station” starts with polyphonic vocals. A nice song in the midtempo range. With “Only God Forgives” the band picks up speed again, the guitars fry. Heavy riffs whip out of the speakers in seconds. With “I Am This One”, the band switches back to the midtempo range. A strong bass line dominates over long parts. The high-speed song “Prayer For The Fallen” again has a progressive edge. On “The Inner Circle”, sound mixer Simone Mularoni (DGM, Lione / Conti, Sunstorm, among others) takes up the guitar himself and contributes a guitar solo. The last two songs “Society Of Shadows” and “A Human So Strange” also provide another full service of Power Metal. 

“Fallen Angel” offers high-class Melodic Power Metal of Teutonic style. Singer Selin Schönbeck is not only convincing vocally, but also with his piano playing. You often think you hear real grand piano and piano sounds. Listen to the final song in particular. The excellent sound was provided by the aforementioned Simone Mularoni in his Domination Studio. One can only say that the comeback has been impressively successful.
