Worship the Sacrifice
“Prophecy of Demise”
Out: Oct 31, 2024
Apocalyptic, both in feel and in sound, Worship the Sacrifice’s newest EP, “Prophecy of Demise”, was released a few days ago. Tense, powerful and chaotic, “Prophecy of Demise”, is consisted of only 4 songs that carry a heavy weight and deliver an absolutely brilliant chaotic result.
Opening with the “Prophecy of Demise”, the same-titled track of the EP, Worship the Sacrifice, without a hint of warning, unleash a death torrent of robust, aggressive riffs that can make the speakers quake and tremble. The blast beats unleash hell as it should be and the vocals, deep and guttural, ensure that this feeling of a raging storm will be defining.
Second comes the “Titan”, where in this one while the brutality remains intact and proper, melodic lines cut shyly through the chaotic death metal riffing, taking the whole song towards a more melodic-death path that serves Worship the Sacrifice excellently. In a similar pattern the “Aphotic” is unveiled, though way more groovy, with stomping riffs and a more contemporary tone which is supported by the powerful low-end that defines the EP.
Fourth, last, but not least, is the “Blood of the Covenant”, the heavier of the four. Following in on the same contemporary tone, the riffs become slower and gnarling, and breakdowns take the lion’s share, with the Worship the Sacrifice delivering a powerful song for the EP’s finale.
In short, “Prophecy of Demise” is one hell of EP, raging, chaotic and all around properly death metal that no fan of the genre should miss.
