“Blindside is about dealing with a loss. There’s so much in life that you can prepare for, but I don’t think anyone can be ready for the whirlwind of emotions that come with losing somebody. To sum up the vibe of the song in one lyric, I think “Blissful past won’t help you bleed” conveys the message well. Regardless of how happy or effortless your life has been before this experience, the path ahead is completely uncharted and this new pain needs to be felt, endured and understood before moving forward.
