The lyric video for “Cemetery Youth” is a glorious tribute to the dark aesthetic of the 1990s, reflecting the song’s youthful yet fatalistic spirit. This track features Ben Christo, guitarist of the iconic post-punk band The Sisters of Mercy, as well as Swiss singer Celine Bart (Exess).

Sublime, raw, and exquisitely beautiful! For me, one of the best genre albums of recent years.
Deaf Forever 8,5/10

Even in their song titles, Locus Noir projects a fantastical, even eroticized, vision of darkness (“Death, That Elusive Mistress).

There’s a beauty of form, a sculptural beauty.” Rock Hard France 8/10

By stepping into a more metal style, Locus Noir does not obscure its ties to Sybreed and opens new horizons for its frontman, whose melancholy remains his defining universe.”  Metallian 4/5

Timeless Gothic rock with a modern edge — dark, driving, free of clichés.” Legacy Mag Germany 12/15

Frontman Ben has a deep, expressive, sepulchral voice; the electro elements in the sound are central but never gratuitous or intrusive, and the catchy melodies practically have your feet tapping non-stop.
Rock Hard Germany 8/10

Striking Gothic Metal debut!” Metal Hammer Germany

Locus Noir unleashed vast soundscapes full of sublime depth with an intensity that the Gothic Metal genre had not seen in a long time.”  Thomas Vogel Sonic Seducer chief editor (Germany)

a high-carat diamond, meticulously polished with flawless melancholy by a masterfully precise post-punk hand.“Markus Eck Sonic seducer (Germany)

This is what modern Gothic Metal sounds like.” Orkus Germany

Locus Noir walk the line between danger and desire and somehow make it sound effortless.” The Metal Gods Meltdown UK

The frontman of the Swiss band SYBREED demonstrates with his LOCUS NOIR project that Gothic Metal can still contain a lot of metal. Rooted in the 90s in the best sense and danceable, yet still heavy.” Bleeding 4 metal

Dark & Melodic. Brilliant stuff from the former Sybreed-frontman Ben DMN.

This might be Huge, Amazing!” Stig Ødegaard – Scream Magazine Norway 5/6

A great feel for gothic decadence, dark wave catchiness and nighttime mysteries!
Rock Tribune Belgium 8/10

“‘Shadow Sun’ projects a crepuscular atmosphere and icy textures, a gothic rock proposal for enthusiasts of melodic introspection and mystery“. This is Rock Spain

Ben DMN’s all-consuming, goth-rock vision prompted Locus Noir’s metamorphosis from a one-man project into a full-band affair. But the arena-rock-ready Shadow Sun isn’t a delusion of grandeur; you’d have to be delusional not to recognize the record’s galvanizing grandiosity.” Kurt Orzeck USA

“”Shadow Sun” is the epitome of ’90s Gothic and Synthwave nostalgia, refracted through a modern lens, with LOCUS NOIR distilling crepuscular introspection, Post-Punk edge, and somber Gothic Rock into a sound that feels both hauntingly timeless and strikingly current.“MetalKaoz USA

An album about life, death, desire and despair” Sweden Rock

Following the exciting recent reformation of SYBREED, its singer Ben Dominet returns with a solo album under the name LOCUS NOIR. Here, he pays homage to his gothic rock and metal Idols (TYPE O NEGATIVE, SISTERS OF MERCY, PARADISE LOST…) making Shadow Sun a superb dark opus… It just goes to show that one often returns to one’s first loves… (RAIN already possessed these gothic influences that later gave birth to SYBREED)“. 4/5
