STERBHAUS releases second single and video “Wrecking the World” – from first album in ten years

STERBHAUS (ex members of Shining, Elvira Madigan, Ondskapt etc) has released a new single for the song “Wrecking the World” accompanied by a video that should raise an eyebrow or two – if not for it’s hilarious message and visuals then at least for the fact that people actually died making the film the video contains clips from.

The “Wrecking the World” video contains footage from the infamous (yet now probably forgotten) disaster movie “Noah’s Ark” from 1928 which had people actually dying during the flood scenes – scenes that included a then unknown John Wayne hired as one of 7500 extras. 2,5 million litres of water were unleashed over people frantically trying to stay above the water line or trying not to be trampled. So if it looks like people are desperately trying to stay alive – they actually really are!

Three people drowned, one person had to have his leg amputated and almost a dozen suffered broken limbs and other serious injuries.

So why does Sterbhaus have a video with footage from Noah’s Ark?

Well… the song “Wrecking the World” is actually about just this hilarious and dubious tall tale, and that there happened to exist an old weird film that goes so well with the lyrical content is really quite the coincident. The video stays extremely true to the bands agenda. Vocalist/lyricist Marcus Hammarström explains:

“I’ve always wanted to do a song about Noah’s Ark – even before Sterbhaus. I mean, it really portrays like nothing else the ultimate stupidity of the human race when it comes to what man is ready to accept as facts in order to just not being interested in thinking anymore. And for those who know Sterbhaus – we totally love stupidity. It seems like the world is missing a point when not understanding that if you consider yourself Christian in any way – you actually ‘have to’ buy into this rubbish. Because the thing is;you can’t pick the raisings out of a doctrine and ‘decide’ whats true or not from the same manual. Either you’re in or you’re out. And this story proves that if you’re in – you’re an idiot.

Well, I’m telling you! We’re gonna have ball tossing around awesome statistics and hilarious memes the next couple of months!

STERBHAUS returned in February earlier this year with the release of a total banger called “Deth Bü Wolfe”. This was the first single and video from the upcoming album “Next Akin to Chaos” (which does not yet have a release date) that will mark the first new full length from the band in a decade.

STERBHAUS started in 2007 and is the home of Marcus Hammarström (also in Mayhems guitarist Ghuls side project Veile, prev ShiningElvira Madigan)JimmyAhovalli and Erik Röjås (prev OndskaptDecadence) and even though the band announced its retirement in 2019 it was also made official that – apart from releasing the live album “Necrostabbing at Göta Källare” in 2021 (which actually charted at #1 for physical format in Sweden), the very last thing to happen was going to be the release of one more album. The coming album “Next Akin to Chaos” is that album.
