Straight Against Fall, a Portuguese-Brazilian project, releases its new single “Industrial Death Machine (One Pig)” last friday Friday, the 6th. The song is the first release from their new EP, scheduled for release in 2026 by the Psywar Records label.
Straight Against Fall comments on the new single:
“It’s a song that portrays the life of exploitation experienced as an immigrant, marked by excessive work, silence, and loneliness. It speaks of constant suffering kept inside, without being shared, until it transforms into mental illness, such as depression and panic disorder. The song exposes the dehumanization of the individual within the industrial machine, where the person becomes just another piece, ‘a pig’ to feed the system, in addition to being the work that Junior [Guimarães Jr, drummer] performed, which was butchering pigs. Throughout the composition, it becomes clear that the life of an immigrant, despite the struggle and resistance, will always be lonely, carrying an emotional weight that is rarely seen or recognized.”
The new work will follow the path opened by the EP ‘Ruthless’, bringing an even freer and broader approach to musical references. The group highlights the atmosphere and lyricism of what’s to come: “The album has similar themes, we talk about longing, love, hate, loneliness, and the single has all this theme involved. Especially the crossover of styles/influences of each member of the band, since the themes of the new album in general involve elements of various styles within and outside of metal.”
The search for differentiation and originality is a main focus for the group, whose objective is to spread its name in Europe and expand worldwide. Regarding the expected reception from the public, the band comments:
“What we want is for our audience to identify with the stories and be able to rise again, to ask for help. As we say, our songs reflect our reality and feelings, and we believe that the impact comes from identifying with reality.”

Formed in 2023, Straight Against Fall emerged from the initiative of Guimarães Júnior, former drummer of the bands Larha (Screamo) and SIC (Old School Hardcore). The group’s aim is to create a heavy, aggressive sound that shapes the Metal and Hardcore scene, but based on creativity and authenticity. Inspired by life experiences and the difficulties of being an immigrant, the group mixes brutality with cultural elements. References range from Punk, Death Metal, and Fado (a Portuguese musical genre, born in Lisbon in the 19th century).
In July 2024, the band debuted with ‘Ruthless’, their first official work. The EP blends heaviness, speed, and melodic elements that highlight the group’s sonic identity. Metalcore, Grindcore, and even Black Metal. Since then, as a starting point, they have independently promoted events and received invitations to share the stage with various bands from Portugal, expanding their reach through the intensity of their live shows.
The band has been gaining prominence following the success of their first EP, ‘Ruthless’, released in 2024. Betting on authenticity and truthfulness, the group inaugurates a fusion of complex and controversial influences, ranging from Cannibal Corpse to Nirvana, both mixed in lyrics that translate the most adverse personal experiences lived by its members.
“The transmission of art is very diverse; therefore, we do what we love. To be a band that is satisfied with what it produces and to transmit it in an emotional and thoughtful, critical and sensible way. Our mission is to engage the audience with our narratives/stories. The songs are a mixture of feelings, for example, one of the songs from our first EP, ‘For You’, talks about the belief of each person within a world that has always been chaotic and today is more widespread and computerized. ‘Void In Me’ speaks of longing and also has a Portuguese characteristic, which is Fado,” explains Guimarães Junior.
