TEENAGE JOANS release new single ‘Sweet And Slow’
Co-written by Jayden Seely of With Confidence

Fast-rising Adelaide Juice-box punk-pop duo Teenage Joans, who have recently wrapped up tours with Foo Fighters, Sum 41 and Sleeping With Sirens, have today released their new single ‘Sweet And Slow’. Co-produced by Jayden Seeley of With Confidence, ‘Sweet And Slow’ sees the two-piece delve into their ‘Disney Channel’ era with a high-energy anthem full of pop-punk nostalgia.
Speaking of the new single vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers shares, “We love to refer to Sweet And Slow as our “Disney Channel” song, as it emanates that early 2000s pop-punk sound. We brought this super catchy chorus we had written to Jayden Seely, who co-wrote the song with us. It was our first session with him and the energy in the room was great, we all knew we were writing such a fun song. Sweet And Slow is about choosing a person over and over no matter the time, place, or circumstances. The lyrics in the writing session came super naturally, and we love how effortlessly they match the songs cheesy energy.”
Since Teenage Joans first burst onto the stage in late 2018, they have left every room they play full of brand-new and soon-to-be long-time fans. Consisting of vocalist and drummer Tahlia Borg and vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers the two-piece indie/pop-punk powerhouse not only play beautifully crafted songs that have audiences singing along the first time they hear them, but the songs are as real and important as they are unapologetic. Cahli and Tahlia have a lot to say and they are going to say it, you are going to listen, and nobody is going to stand in their way.
Going from strength to strength, Teenage Joans has spent the last few years on tour around Australia and the US with the likes of Foo Fighters, Sum 41, Sleeping With Sirens, Noahfinnce, Amy Shark, Holding Absence, Pale Waves, Ball Park Music, The Chats + many more as well as selling out multiple national headline tours. They were also invited to perform at festivals such as Good Things, Unify, SXSW Austin, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, Laneway Festival, Spin Off with many more to come.
After taking out the triple j unearthed high crown in 2020, the Adelaide two-piece have not slowed down–the self-proclaimed “Juice-box punk-pop” girls have taken out #87 in the 2020 Hottest 100, #84 in the 2021 Hottest 100, released their debut EP ‘Taste Of Me’ and won a record breaking 7 Awards at the 2021 SAM Awards including awards for ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Live Performance’ and ‘Best Release ’as well as taking home ‘Best Punk Artist’ in 2022 & 2023.
In 2023, we saw the outfit release their debut album ‘The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest’ through Domestic La La / Unified which made 7 appearances throughout ARIA charts and landing them an ARIA nomination for ‘Best Heavy Album’ and saw the creation of the bands short film displaying the album visually through an Alice In Wonderland like story.
