Finland and Metal? Nightwish, Moonsorrow, Korpiklaani, Apocalyptica, Amorphis, Swallow the Sun come to mind. And and and! The list is long. Miss Vain also come from the Scandinavian Metal hotspot. The band was founded in 2019 as a two-man studio project. It wasn’t until 2021 that it became a five-piece band dedicated to Rock and Metal.

What a full Rock sound already with the opener “One To Burn”. Even if the pressure of the vocals is partly reduced. This continues seamlessly with “All The Same”. Here, too, the alternation between heavy, rhythmic riffs and quieter vocal passages. On “Leap Of Failed”, the Finns go at a high tempo throughout. Mikko Vilkman’s vocals sound correspondingly hectic in places, partly mixed with screams. But as with the songs before, there are a lot of beautiful melodies to hear. But also, a great guitar solo. The final song “Song of Solitude” is a bit calmer, mostly ballad-like. Although, towards the end, the tempo and heaviness pick up again.

There is actually only one point of criticism with this EP, it is far too short. I would like to have more of that. I hope the Finns will soon come up with a full-length album.
