VHS PANTY RIOT and Disco Dreadannounce His Blood Her Hope
A heavy, melancholic darksynth collaboration arriving on the eve of Halloween

KETTERING, UK. VHS PANTY RIOT and Disco Dread will release “His Blood, Her Hope” on Friday 30 October 2026, the eve of Halloween. The heavy instrumental collaboration is the first single from VPR’s forthcoming second EP, MY FACE, YOUR GHOST, bringing metal songwriting into a world of distorted synths and 1980s horror.

Metallic bass riffs and forceful drums drive the track, while melancholic synth leads carry its emotional weight. The clangy bass is central to VPR’s sound: an instrument that carries riffs and locks into the groove, with melodies above it that give the aggression a more vulnerable edge.

“The music can be aggressive without the feeling behind it being anger. On this track, that feeling is much closer to melancholy,” says VHS PANTY RIOT.

Disco Dread’s contribution opens the arrangement into a cinematic passage before moving into a heavy section of his own. The ending brings the two approaches together, with his synth melody returning over VPR’s section. The collaboration gives both artists room to develop their ideas across the arrangement.

The story behind the title is one of sacrifice and survival. Within the EP’s imagined slasher film, a man intervenes to save a woman from a monster, losing his life but buying her time to survive. With no lyrics to dictate the scene, the music leaves listeners room to form their own interpretation.

The single was mixed by Steve Evetts, whose credits include The Dillinger Escape Plan and Every Time I Die, and mastered by Thibault Chaumont at Deviant Lab, whose work includes Carpenter Brut and HEALTH. Chaumont also mastered VPR’s debut EP, KISS KISS CUT CUT, released on 30 June 2026.

Founded in Kettering in January 2026, VHS PANTY RIOT grew from years of playing metal and the discovery of Carpenter Brut’s “Turbo Killer”. Its concept is soundtracks to 80s slasher films that never existed, with a hooded figure and a red balloon carrying that world into its imagery. The music is 100% human-made. VPR has already reached a peak of over 18,000 monthly Spotify listeners.

Disco Dread makes dark electronic music inspired by 1980s horror, science fiction and retro games, combining distorted bass with melodic hooks. “His Blood, Her Hope” brings that sensibility into a collaboration built around the tension between violence and hope.
