VRÎMUOT unveil video single ‘Die Mær vom steinernen Mann‘
& details of new album “Lupus Viridis“
VRÎMUOT have released the story-telling video single ‘‘Die Mær vom steinernen Mann‘ (“The Fable of the Stoneman”) featuring the opening track of the forthcoming new album “Lupus Viridis” (“The Green Wolf”).
The sophomore full-length from the German dark folk innovators is chalked up for release on December 5, 2025.
VRÎMUOT comment on ‘Die Mær vom steinernen Mann’: “This ballad marks the next chapter in an ongoing cycle of songs centered on the motif of a ‘femme fatale’ that follows in the wake of ‘Nymphaea Alba’ from the previous album”, mastermind Lupus Viridis writes. “This song revolves around a female spirit of unknown nature. It tells about a fateful encounter of the eponymous stoneman with a strangely luminous and graceful woman. In the beginning, through the tale of a wanderer, we first experience the revelation of a mythopoetic and mindful worldview. Through a benevolent and synergistic contemplation of nature, his story unveils the deeper mysteries of life. In the second act in this symbolic exchange, a tragic story about beauty, devotion, and the infinite mystery of our existence unfolds.”
“Sie war ein Dasein in Dauer… ein Schimmer im Dunkeln!”
(“She was a Being in Perpetuity… a Shimmer in the Dark!”

On their sophomore full-length “Lupus Viridis” (“The Green Wolf”), VRÎMUOT take their listeners into an Otherworld inhabited by mythical creatures of folktales, lore, and legends. The German dark folk innovators are excellent storytellers both in poetic lyrics as well as musically.
Mastermind T.S. aka Lupus Viridis has taken giant steps in his musical development since the release of VRÎMUOT‘s debut album “O Tempora, O Mores!” in 2020. Channelling his growth as an artist and a person in combination with the gained experience of playing live, the dark folk project has extended its ambition and range.
VRÎMUOT were founded by composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Lupus Viridis with the declared aim of breaching new ground with and for neofolk. This was equally reflected in the band’s name, which means “candour” in medieval German as well as in his DIY-composition that shunned digital tools in favour of unusually long, intense narratives of carefully crafted complexity.
With “Lupus Viridis”, VRÎMUOT are again testing the imaginary boundaries of their genre. The opening track ‘Die Mær vom steinernen Mann’ for example even seems to organically and very subtly draw from the rhythmical influences of jazz by a bit of ‘taking five’. While expanding on the genre’s core aesthetics VRÎMUOT‘s mythopoeic dark folk does never stray too far from classic neofolk values.
VRÎMUOT hail from Germany’s fabled Teutoburg Forest and view their “mythopoeic dark folk” as a metaphorical weapon of choice to cathartic effect; always with the intention of conveying a positive message. Wandering in the footsteps and following the spirit of Romantic period artists, the natural world of forests, mountains, and rivers always remains a present force even in the magical otherworld of fairy tales and legends.
Magic has also been wielded by Markus Stock, who has beautifully mastered the album for a clear and crisp yet also organic and warm sound, which perfectly complements VRÎMUOT‘s mood and tales on “Lupus Viridis”.
VRÎMUOT are taking wide strides with “Lupus Viridis” both lyrically as well as musically. Lean back, relax, and listen to masterful storytelling!
