WARHOG’s The Dystopian Chronicles, Vol. 3 marks the climactic conclusion to the band’s ambitious trilogy: a sweeping, furious, and often uncomfortably honest exploration of humanity in decline.

That’s what it says in the email about the latest promo from the Texas metal band. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were released in 2024. Warhog are influenced by scene giants such as Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. And the quartet demonstrates this extremely convincingly.

Dark keyboards introduce ‘Unleash The Beast’. Then the drums and distorted guitars take over. A real crescendo. Scott Beetley sings powerfully and slightly raspily right from the start. ‘Future Shock’ also starts off quietly, with keyboard tapestries and pumping bass. But here, too, it becomes more powerful later on. ‘Hollow’ is a leisurely moving song. A quiet, melancholic ballad. ‘Stewards Of A Broken World’ has a very rhythmic start. Later, clean guitars and drums take over. A mid-tempo rocker that was supposed to conclude the album, but then Warhog realised that the trilogy was 17 seconds shorter than their debut album ‘Call of the Voyager’ (2022). So, without further ado, a seventeen-second signal called ‘signal_pulse27103_28_057_undefined_anomaly’ was added. A possible look ahead to the band’s next chapter?

The trilogy ‘The Dystopian Chronicles’ has come to an end. The third EP is of a similarly high level as its two predecessors. But as we all know, after the EP is before the album/EP. So, we can look forward to seeing what Warhog will deliver in the future. Then we will probably also find out the answers to the questions raised by the outro signal.
