Northern UK EDM metalcore powerhouses Waterlines have been thrilling live crowds all over the country across the Summer. Now they’re delighted to be bringing you their first new music in over a year! Their brand new single is called Giant Killers, and it is a metal rave anthem for the ages. Established as one of the highlights of the Waterlines live set at recent shows, the band are delighted to now bring Giant Killers to the masses.

“I wrote Giant Killers as a love letter to my friends and equals in the scene. I’ve seen blood and sweat poured into shows at 100 cap venues that would knock the teeth out of most arena bands.
On any given day there is an unknown band out there, giving their tiny fan population everything they’ve fucking got, and every now and then one of us might get the opportunity to prove it, and prove that we are more than the sum of our parts.
It’s an ode to the underground, the bands who graft and never get the break, the countless hours behind the scenes for a shot at the one social post that goes viral. I live and breathe that scene, I am and always will be a part of it.
There is a group of bands just below the shimmering surface of metal, who have been ready for a chance they’re not going to get, for years, but they keep going and keep giving it everything.

Alongside the announcement of Giant Killers, Waterlines are equally pleased to publicly welcome their new bassist Joe Morton. Joe, also of fellow UK metalcore bruisers Overthrone, initially joined the band as live bassist. They’ve all got on so well, they’ve collectively decided to make it a permanent arrangement, so please join us in welcoming Joe to the never a dull moment experience that is life in Waterlines!

About Waterlines
Self-proclaimed “Dirtbags from The North,” WATERLINES are hellbent on taking the UK metalcore scene by storm. Formed in late 2022, the band write music built for one purpose: to be played live to a room that’s about to erupt. Their sound fuses nu-metal with EDM and synthwave-laced metalcore, backed by performances that are as dynamic on stage as the tracks are on record.
The band has wasted no time making that mark. A run of UK headline and main support shows, festival slots, and single releases have built a reputation fast, headlined by their latest offering “Sinister,” a synthwave-laden metalcore slap to the face. Elsewhere in the catalogue: “BRACE.“, a hefty song about a plane ride with an unhappy ending; their cover of Ultrabeat’s dancefloor classics “Pretty Green Eyes // Elysium“, a verified audience pleaser; and “Set The Pace“, the track that sparked the Daisy Chain Gang movement (hundreds of fans linking arms and jumping left, left, left, right, right, right in unison is a genuine sight to behold). Add BBC Radio 1 airplay, a 100% moshpit success rate to date, and pre-rebrand appearances at Takeover at Download Festival, Tech Fest, and Radar Fest, and it’s clear this band doesn’t do things by half.
Bloodstock has been a turning point twice over. In August 2023, Waterlines headlined the Jägermeister Stage to riotous acclaim. They were invited back in Summer 2025, delivering an incendiary set on the Sophie Lancaster Stage that had stage crew, punters, and journalists alike calling it a standout of the whole weekend. 2025 and 2026 have kept the momentum going, with shows at Radar Fest, Takedown, Mangata, Hammerdown, Mayday Mayhem, Slaughterhouse, and Sanctum Metal Fest, plus relentless UK touring in between.
Kicking off a relentless 15-month schedule of new music, “Giant Killers” arrives in mid-September 2026, the first in a steady run of singles building throughout the rest of 2026 well into 2027. Each release adds another layer to a sound already known for hitting hard live, and the band are treating this stretch as the true arrival of the Waterlines era. They aren’t asking for a seat at the table. They’re kicking it over.
