UK Thrash legends XENTRIX have just dropped their brand new single, “Nil by Mouth”!
XENTRIX ‘s ‘ new single ‘Nil by Mouth’ is taken from their forthcoming album ‘ Allied with the Enemy’
The music which became ‘Nil by Mouth’ was initially demoed for the previous ‘Seven Words’ album but inadvertantly became buried then ultimately just disappeared under a wave of newer ideas at that time.
Unearthed again by chance during writing for this new album and given a completely new start on lyrics & vocals – it grabbed a new lease of life and now has become one of the faster favourites.
The song is based around theme of ‘Involuntary Communication Shutdown’.
Lyrically it flows as a commentary of being stuck inside a spin of thoughts, all running too fast and so entangled that they become impossible to process clearly enough to say anything at all.
Musically it’s a mix up of classic Thrash Metal with the twist of modern metal precision, all set together in a tight sounding Metal Production. Thrash guitar riffs, fast double time snare – onbeat into offbeat fused with big chuggy beatdown choruses.

UK Thrash veterans XENTRIX return with ‘Allied With the Enemy,’ a ten‑track barrage that marks their most uncompromising statement to date. Following the critical acclaim of 2022’s ‘Seven Words’, the band push harder, darker and sharper, delivering a record that refuses to pull its punches.
Recorded from late 2025 into 2026 at Backstage Studios, England, the album once again benefits from the elite production of Andy Sneap, whose precision and power elevate the band’s heaviest material yet. The striking artwork, created by UK artist Dan Goldsworthy, completes a package set for worldwide release through Listenable Records.
Musically, ‘Allied With the Enemy’ is XENTRIX at full force — melodic when it chooses to be, atmospheric when it needs to be, and absolutely crushing when it wants to be. It brings the Metal back into Thrash, kicking out the trash and doubling down on the band’s signature bite.
Lyrically, the album cuts with intent. Themes of disinformation, blind popularity, social and personal collapse, and self‑bias run through the record with clarity and conviction. This is not light listening — it’s music that demands attention and rewards those who want something to think about.
