SOUR TIMES Drops Title Track From Upcoming EP Awaken The Voiceless
American extreme metal outfit SOUR TIMES are back with their highly-anticipated follow-up to 2021’s The 11th Hour. Their new EP, Awaken The Voiceless promises to be staunch, rageful and explosive in its blend of raw aggression and melodic inclination. Today, the band has revealed the title track from the upcoming opus.
Joseph Izayea had this to say, “Amidst all the mayhem, I am most lasciviously enthused to announce the release of our new EP’s advance single release of the title track, Awaken The Voiceless. Now live on most digital platforms, and releasing in tandem with a gnarly concept / lyric video on the DoWork channel created by the imaginative minds of my buds Ben Reigle & Chris Matthews, we’re stoked to drop another taste of this collaboration as the release of our EP and the debut of the project as a performance act draws near. The EP in its entirety along with another performance / concept video will release on Friday the 13th of October. Many and all preparations are being made to kick off the release with a bang, including a live Sour Times debut in my backyard of tiny Providence, Rhode Island as we gear up to enter other markets in the close of 2023 and the new year. Get into it! Chenqui!”
The fierce chemistry between Ben Reigle, a multi-disciplined musician and noteworthy artist coupled with the thunderous roars of mad-scientist Joseph Izayea (FROM UNDER CONCRETE KINGS, SEEKING SIRENS) and the welcome addition of guitarist Chris Matthews (ex- TETSUO and ex- THE SEARCH FOR) meld together in an almost peculiar fashion, tapping influences of modern metal masters like GOJIRA and WHITECHAPEL while channeling the spirits of Old-School New York Hardcore. The blend screams raw, unbridled honesty in a sober-eyed look at the state of humanity today.
With the coming release of Awaken The Voiceless, the band now looks to find its place in the performance world with tenacity and vigor.
The Awaken The Voiceless EP will be available on all major platforms on Friday the 13th October, 2023.
