France’s STINKY – a metallic and at times melodic hardcore band – come back with a brand-new digital single “Down in the Dumps” from the group’s next album due at the end of the year. “Down in the Dumps” is currently available for streaming/download on all platforms, or watch the music video here:

After the catchy, pop-punk-tinged “Moonbow,” released last fall, the band reveals a new facet of their future album with “Down in the Dumps.” A darker track, with heavy rhythms and a subtle blend of violence and heady refrains.

’Down in the Dumps’ deals with the throes of burnout and the long struggle to recover from it. With this new, more metal/modern hardcore-influenced track, the members of STINKY demonstrate their desire to explore new horizons, and promise a varied and ever more melodic album,” states drummer Paul.

Both “Moonbow” and “Down in the Dumps” come from the quintet’s fourth album‘Solace’ to be released in late 2024. Outside of the two-song digital EP ‘Resolve’ released in 2022, inspired and created during the pandemic, it’s been four years since STINKY released their full-length ‘Of Lost Things,’ praised by Outburn for its “solid melodic hardcore/punk that employs notes of Sick Of It All, Parkway Drive and Comeback Kid” while the UK’s Down For Life magazine praised it for its “monstrous anthems and full-on bangers.”

Since the core of drummer Paul and vocalist Clair have recruited 3 new members – Max on bass and Enzo and Clément on guitars but STINKY remain true to their original mission and sound while expanding the palette created. The group has been active playing shows all over France, including key festivals like Hellfest, Omega Sound Fest, Brut’fier, SidFest, WeMetal Fest, and Nantes Metal Fest as well as getting over to the UK for Manchester Punk Festival, alongside Hot Water Music, A Wilhelm Scream and Tsunami Bomb.

Since their formation a decade ago, STINKY has played more than 350 concerts across 15 different countries in support of their first three albums, 2015’s ‘Against Wind and Tide,’ 2017’s ‘From Dead-End Street,’ and 2020’s ‘Of Lost Things.’ While the band’s name might seem curious to some, their music – a combustible mix of energy and aggression that the UK’s Midlands Metalheads Radio says “makes you feel like you can headbutt through a brick wall” – unquestionably passes the test.

More new music and information from ‘Solace’ will be released in the months leading up to its release.

STINKY live:
6/27 – HELLFEST – France
sharing the stage w/ Body Count, Biohazard, Clawfinger, Harm’s Way
