Bitter Price are a relatively young band, at least in terms of when they were founded. The band members themselves are seasoned musicians from the Berlin Metal scene. They came together at the end of 2024 to form Bitter Price. Their first demo tape was released in July 2025 and can be purchased on Bandcamp. Bitter Price play ‘ Heavy Metal with a passionate US metal influence’. Their influences include Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden and Savatage.

Bitter Price are relentlessly harsh on ‘Outer Frontline’. Alban Shamane sings in a relatively high-pitched Metal voice at times, while drummer Paul Hopp whips his bandmates into a frenzy. Both guitarists repeatedly blast out heavy riffs, but also throw in the occasional guitar solo. The rhythm-driven ‘Meadows Of Sorrow’ is only slightly calmer. ‘Spellbound’ is harder and faster, driven by riffs and drums. The vocals are now in a slightly lower range and are often accompanied by Double Bass. ‘Arrival (In Violence)’ starts rhythmically with a subtle bass line, but the guitar riffs soon take over. This is probably the most melodic song on the EP.

‘The Orwohaus Tapes’ is much more than just a demo. The musicians demonstrate that they have gained a lot of experience and have mastered their instruments inside out. Let’s hope that the musicians soon find a record label where they can release this EP on CD or vinyl. We can look forward to their debut album, which is scheduled to go into (pre-)production in the autumn.
