100%WET share new single “Eleanor’s Escape“

Band play SPOT festival on this May and share details of first UK headlines

Copenhagen-based 100%WET shares their new single, “Eleanor’s Escape”, their first original music of 2026, further shaping their expansive hypergaze sound.
“Eleanor’s Escape” has an origin story as layered as its sound. One half, the half responsible for its title, was written by Sanna and Casper in the Lake District; the other by Annie Hockeysmith and Jakob in Cornwall and Bristol, during a period when Jakob was studying there. The two ideas could not have been more different: Casper and Sanna’s contribution was dreamy and electronic, built around a four-to-the-floor beat, while Jakob and Annie’s was heavier and noisier, a song that found its feet in the band’s early live sets.

The single marks another step forward for a band whose momentum has shown no signs of slowing. Forming at Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatoire, an institution known for its growing roster of alt-pop exports including Clarissa Connelly, ML Buch, Smerz, and Astrid Sonne, 100%WET was born out of a shared desire to merge the immersive qualities of shoegaze and dreampop with the rhythmic intensity of drum and bass. They coined a term for the result: hypergaze.
Their debut self-titled album, released on Crunchy Frog Recordings, earned widespread praise from The Line of Best Fit, KEXP, Electronic Sound and Louder Than War, among others. Live, the band brought their sound to SPOT Festival and supported Primal Scream on their last Copenhagen headline show. Following a period of illness that forced the band to step back, cancel UK appearances and pause their writing, they returned earlier this year with a cover of Grimes’ “Delete Forever”, a bold, emotionally charged offering that signalled they were back in full force.
“Eleanor’s Escape” follows in that spirit, but pushes somewhere new. Where earlier 100%WET tracks dealt in heartbreak and catharsis, here the emotional register shifts toward something wider and more cinematic, a sound that echoes the open skies of the Lake District and the Atlantic coastline in equal measure. It is the sound of a band growing into the full scale of what they are capable of.
100%WET are made up of producer and guitarist Jakob Birch and producer, guitarist and vocalist Casper Munns. Outside of the band, Casper is known for his work in Himmelrum (Big Oil/Joyful Noise), his solo alias Drop, and the drum and bass project Splitscreen. Jakob has released experimental solo work on underground label Janushoved and has featured in both Lovespeed (Sony) and The Lost Weekend.
The band will play a set in Aarhus at the highly coveted SPOT Festival on Friday 1st May and Roskilde Festival Monday, 29th June. The band also today hints at their first ever London performance on Tuesday, the 9th of June at The Social. Further details to come, save the date…
