BIRDSTONE unite the soulful energy of blues with the power and richness of heavy rock. Combining arid melancholy and sticky riffs, the shining three-piece move with disconcerting ease between ethereal atmospheres, dramatic tensions and impetuous climaxes.

BIRDSTONE’s fourth album, soberly entitled ‘IV’, skilfully balances liberating fire with the fire that consumes. The album was recorded live in a family home tucked away in the French countryside of Aveyron, timeless and far removed from noise and daily stress. From this creative setting emerges a raw power, drawing equally from heavy rock, stoner rock and blues rock. On top of this comes a pronounced taste for the mystical, mythological themes and esotericism. The six tracks on the album exude an organic, almost instinctive coherence. ‘IV’ is an album fuelled by contrasts, embracing and elevating its rough edges.

With the album to be out later this year, the band is set to release the new single “No One Else” to be out tomorrow, Metalheads Forever Magazine is happy to premiere and early streaming of the Video.

“No One Else,” the opening track on the album, bridges the gap between IV and its predecessor, The Great Anticipation

The title evokes the different roles we are called upon to play throughout our lives: those we choose, those we endure, those society expects of us, etc. Like a wardrobe, we can change our clothes, but underneath the costume, we remain fundamentally the same person, sometimes hidden but never erased.

The song oscillates between groovy verses and an edgy chorus, reflecting this instability, like the multiple facets of an individual in constant metamorphosis. Ultimately, who are we really when we take off our masks?

Am I someone else?
Everytime that I flip the switch
An actor with no rest, a wardrobe with so much left to stitch
