Love in Chains are an American Melodic Rock band. Bands such as KISS, Firehouse, Europe, Winger, Warrant, Whitesnake, Dokken and Stryper are named as their influences. Their debut album, ‘Everyday Heroes’ was released in August 2022. Two years later, the EP ‘The Rust Belt’ was released. The new album ‘Good Lovin’ is scheduled for October 2026.

Indeed, things really take off right from ‘Lost In The Forbidden’. The riffs fly round your ears, the drums boom and Rob Kane sings with a powerful, clear voice. ‘Listen To Your Heart’ is calmer and very rhythmic, with beautiful guitar melodies. A mid-tempo anthem par excellence. The title track, ‘Good Lovin’’’, rocks again, albeit at a slightly slower pace. It features a catchy melody and a powerful guitar solo. ‘Here’ is the next anthem, showcasing one of the album’s finest vocal performances, with Rob Kane accompanied by a backing chorus. ‘Cry Freedom’ begins with a deep bass line, before the guitars take over. The drums introduce ‘Is It Your Heart’, before the track really kicks off with some lively rock. A sing-along chorus and another guitar solo round off the track. Clean guitars, drumming and the bass set the rhythm in ‘Rage Of Angels’. The tempo picks up again on the guitar heavy ‘Getting Away With Murder’. Heavy guitars and powerful drums also dominate ‘Eyes On You’. And that doesn’t change much with the closing track, ‘Something About You’.

With ‘Good Lovin’’ the US band Love In Chains have produced a superb Melodic Rock album. Back in the 80s, they could have filled large arenas – it’s stadium rock, after all. And yet the sound doesn’t come across as old-fashioned or dated in the slightest. This is exactly how fresh Melodic Hard Rock should sound today.
