Venue: Midnight Club Grassobbio (Bergamo / Lombardy / Italy) – Livestream
Date: October 16th, 2020

Livestream concerts are booming worldwide. The musicians and bands hardly have any other options to stand on stage and present their songs. That’s how I met a new band on Friday, False Memories from Milan. The band was founded in 2015. One year later, the self-titled debut EP was released and in 2018 the first self-directed album “Chimerical”. After making a label deal with ROAR! Rock Of Angels was able to complete, the album was released worldwide. With three bonus tracks (Amazon: two), in which the new singer Rossella Moscatello had newly sung older songs.

Lombardy was one of the regions in Italy hardest hit by the corona virus. It is all the more gratifying that there are now one or two performance options for smaller bands. False Memories used that, of course. In the Midnight Club that evening the Italians presented nine songs from their debut album. In keeping with the sound, the stage was only sparingly illuminated by a few spotlights. The announcements were just as economical. Instead there was 45 minutes of Dark Metal with a strong progressive touch. Finally, False Memories played a cover version of “Vacanze Romane” by their compatriots Matia Bazar. But not as a pop song like the original. Instead, they rearranged the song as Gothic Doom Metal. But of course, in their own language.

Setlist:

  • Heavenly
  • Whispers
  • Crimes
  • Relief
  • Creepy Song
  • Trembling Sky
  • Sweet Agony
  • Incomplete Life
  • Dark Machine
  • Vacanze Romane

Lineup:

Rossella Moscatello – Vocals
Francesco Savino – Guitars
Moreno Palmisano – Guitars
Gianluca Zaffino – Bass
Emanuele Cossu – Drums

The band intends to make videos of the songs of the evening available individually on their homepage. The full show can currently be seen on the False Memories Facebook page. If you want to support the musicians in these difficult times, click the donation button on the website.
