Woesley Johann, release solo album ‘Secrets Of A Darkened Soul’
Guitarist for Goat Necropsy and Nervochaos releases long-awaited solo album, with guest appearances by Prika Amaral, Eloy Casagrande and Guilherme Vorhass
Celebrating ten years of career, the guitarist of the bands NervoChaos and Goat Necropsy, Woesley Johann, finally releases his solo album, entitled ’Secrets Of A Darkened Soul’. “It’s an immense happiness to be able to show the world my first solo album, my first record that was made entirely by myself, from compositions to recordings, arts, directing and editing the clips, mixing and mastering… Anyway, a record that has really every piece of mine in his composition in a general way”, comments the musician.
‘Secrets Of A Darkened Soul’ was entirely recorded by Woesley, who plays all the instruments – orchestrations and drums were digitally recorded by Woesley – and features guest appearances such as guitarist Prika Amaral, from the band Nervosa, on the track “Emotions”, the guitarists Guilherme Vorhass and Alge, on the track “Cigarette time” and Eloy Casagrande, drummer for Sepultura, who gave the drum track for the song “Crashing in time” – a track that featured Woesley in a video and then the guitarist turned into song.
About the participation, the guitarist of the band Nervosa, Prika Amaral says: “I love the idea of supporting talented musicians who donate their soul to what they do. The solo music I recorded is very engaging, and very well constructed, let more records come !”
‘Secrets Of A Darkened Soul’ is an audacious project, where Woesley, known for his work in extreme metal, ventures to work several musical styles in a single album. The album was released thanks to the crowdfunding campaign “I want to heartily thank all the people who believe in my work and participated in the release Crowdfunding so that the physical disc and other materials were made, it was a great success, thank you very much! I hope everyone likes this work that I did with so much love and dedication. I love doing what I do and I live for my music”.

Woesley Johann draws attention for being DIY (Do It Yourself), produces, directs and records all his material, from the videos to the album, as well as his talent for composing songs with different influences inside and outside extreme music. “It took me about 2 months to complete the process of recording and recording all instruments. Some of the compositions on this album were made immediately inspired by the climate that was in the process of writing the songs, others, such as the ballad ‘Miss Why?!’ which evokes a feeling of nostalgia and longing in the title and hearing. more than 6 years ago and I couldn’t keep leaving so many ideas just saved, so I decided to record everything and with the experience I gained from these years entering the studio and hard studying the entire music market from the music business to the composition of graphic elements of a cover, for example, it was all very natural and light for me to carry out the entire process of each part”.
The disc contains 11 tracks, where Woesley brings a little bit of everything that inspires him, from good old blues to extreme Death Metal, where each song has a unique mixing and mastering, making each song to sound really within its purpose, each with a different style. “I prioritized riffs, passages and things I would like to hear, created a song for every taste, so that when people listen to my record, at least one song will please any audience. I didn’t prioritize such fast or virtuous phrases, even though I loved Yngwie Malmsteen”.
Woesley Johann is initially known for his work with KroW, already performing at Rock In Rio and is also part of one of the great names of Brazilian death metal, NervoChaos, and of Victorizer band together with renowned vocalist Vitor Rodrigues (Ex-Torture Squad). He recently created the Goat Necropsy project, in which he is the precursor of a totally different style of extreme metal in Brazil and has been gaining notoriety around the world.
In addition to releasing his album, he remains in the studio working on other materials with NervoChaos and Goat Necropsy.
