Time for some timeless heavy metal! Danish band ANOXIA just released their new video “Take Down The Mountains”!
“I know your rehearsal facilities are shut down, all your concerts and festivals are canceled and the society is in total lockdown due to COVID19… But hey, how about writing a face-melting new heavy metal single, record it and send it to me ASAP?” said Anoxia’s Label CEO in early spring 2021.
The words from the CEO and the challenge became an instant catalyst and a well-placed adrenaline injection for the band who was semi-hibernating due to COVID-19 restrictions. Lars (Vocal/Guitar) elaborates: “It was indeed a kick in the ass for the band and the whole process of creating the song was absolutely magic. A song that really represents what we stand for as a band and we’re damn proud of it. The song – and video – really reflects our frustrations in those dark times both as a band but also as frequent concert and festival guests and I believe many will identify themselves with the lyrics”.
Due to lockdown the song was recorded at several locations with help from sound-techs and longtime friends of the band Simon J. and Ole W. B. Mix and master was done by the great Jacob Hansen (Pretty Maids, Mercenary, Volbeat, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy). Enjoy AnoxiA’s first release since 2019… “Take Down The Mountains”!
“Take Down The Mountains” is out now as a standalone video-clip. The song will also be released in the From The Vaults exclusive vinyl compilation “Heavy Metal Rock Vol. 1”, due in March.
AnoxiA is a well-established act on the Danish underground live metal scene, their longevity dating back 20+ years. Hell bent on having fun during performance, AnoxiA approaches any gig fully charged, sincerely convinced that in order for the audience to enjoy, the band must enjoy.
In 2003 the group from Nyborg released its unofficial debut album “Melanchollision”, after two demos unleashed in the three years before. 3 years later, the EP “Kept In Sin” made AnoxiA a solid part of the Danish metal scene.
The band finally unleashed the album “A Lapdance For The Devil” in 2010, their first one for Mighty Music. International recognition was waiting for them, as well as a strong road activity.
Never a band in a rush, AnoxiA made their growing fanbase wait a few more years before “To The Lions”, their 2019 full-length album, saw the light of day. But the wait was totally compensated with an old-school heavy metal record – melodic, yet hardhitting and thrashy at times. At times even a modern twist sneaks in. The songs are carved around strong riffing a wide array of vocal variation, supporting the musical landscapes.
