You recently released “The New Chapter” On Shredguy Records, can you tell me a bit about the production behind this album?
It’s always been my dream to make an album. I started recording my songs in May 2021. I managed to finish them in November 2021. Everything was recorded at my home studio, except for the drums and vocals. It was mixed and mastered at Studio47 (Singapore).
What was the concept that was put behind this album?
Epic concept. It’s about a futuristic character. His world was about to end with no music. Everything was about to be destroyed by the aliens & the alien’s weakness is music. He had no choice but to travel to the past to learn everything about music. In that era, he discovers a lot of challenges such as war with Alien Egyptian Gods. He keeps knowledge and fights the wars. The concept is more to the Middle Eastern, symphonic, gothic, and dark metal.
You have worked mostly on guitars and others except for drums and you have also brought session vocalists and Flute into the album, can you tell me a bit more into the depth of the making of the album?
The song titled The Bloody Killing of Human Sin was actually composed in the year 2012. It was written by Calvin Henry Lesslar. So I decided to approach Wazzmo from Nederland to sing the song to make it a masterpiece. The song, A Fallen Memories was composed and written by me. I decide to make a gothic feel and also approached Wazzmo to sing the song. For the song The Seruling Princess the story is about the character finding his love. I decided to approach Fatin SerulingLady to make the song beautiful and epic. The song The Freedom the story is about the peace of the world. I was inspired by Nightwish. So I decided to approach Cavallotto Rossana from Italy from the band Era of Ephemeris to sing the song. It was one of the best songs on the album.
You started with the band Exuberance, what happened to the band now, will there be any plans with the band in the future?
Currently, the band is not active as everyone is too busy with their own commitments. But I hope one day we will start making our music again.
You are also a producer in Singapore, can you tell me a bit about the works that you made and the accomplishments?
I have produced many songs in Malay, Chinese, and English. Some of the songs have been played on the radio and television in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei. My song managed to get no. 1 in the Ria Fm Chart of Singapore radio.
Can you tell me how it all started for you, when did you pick up your guitar, and some of the influences that made you get into the music?
I started playing guitar at the age of 15 years old. My cousin taught me the guitar. After that, I was self-taught playing the guitar. My influences are Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Stump, and Ihsahn. They are one of the best in the world. Music makes me happy and it helps you to relax.
What would be some of the upcoming plans for you?
I am planning to make my 2nd album. It will be the continuation of the 1st album. The character will meet more friends and recruit them for the battle. It will be more epic and different.
What would be the dream for you?
I hope to make more songs or albums. And that people would listen to my songs every day.
Finally, what would you like to say to the International musical fraternity?
The metal community has been very united and supportive. We should make more music and support each other. Make more music videos. Do not give up. I would like to say thanks to everyone that been supporting me and my music.
