ISRAELI PROGRESSIVE/SYMPHONIC METAL ACT
SCARDUST UNVEIL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “HUTS”

NEW SINGLE FROM LATEST ALBUM “STRANGERS” AHEAD OF
MARCH 22ND CONCERT WITH SPECIAL GUEST PATTY GURDY

Israel’s progressive/symphonic metal wizards SCARDUST have unveiled the music video for “Huts,” the latest single from their critically acclaimed sophomore concept album “Strangers.” The clip – which features a guest appearance from the Hellscore choir (Orphaned Land, Amorphis, Ayreon) – can be viewed at https://youtu.be/_CvItV_Fpew. The full album – described by Dead Rhetoric as “captivating from start to finish” – can be streamed on all major digital platforms or purchased on CD and limited-edition gray smoke vinyl at https://smarturl.com/scardust2020.

Says SCARDUST frontwoman Noa Gruman, “The theme of the video and the song ‘Huts’ is the clash between longing for simpler, happier days from one side, and the busy big city life that modern days force on us. It is represented by the kids dancing and singing in nature and the adult choir in the city fighting for their tiny moment in the spotlight. Flying to the UK to record the kids choir and making the video were both absolutely amazing experiences, and working with our new video producer Lahav Levi is giving a new edge to our art.”

SCARDUST will also be making its return to the live stage with a special performance on Tuesday, March 22nd at the Gagarin Club in Tel Aviv, Israel. The live show, titled “In Concrete Cages,” will see the band joined by special guest Patty Gurdy and will also be available to view as a free livestream at https://bit.ly/scardust-patty.

SCARDUST persevered through the challenges presented by the events of 2020 and ended that year by releasing their acclaimed sophomore record “Strangers,” a unique concept album built of complementary song pairs working from the outside in. The music videos from the record, which can be seen at www.youtube.com/Scardust, further demonstrate the degree to which different tracks from the album are thematically connected. The makeup of the band continued to evolve in 2021, as bassist Yanai Avnet and keyboardist Itai Portugali said an amicable goodbye to SCARDUST, and the group officially welcomed into the fold longtime songwriting collaborator Orr Didi (bass) and longtime friend of the band Aaron Friedland (keyboards).

Mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Arch Enemy), “Strangers” was written and composed jointly by SCARDUST vocalist Noa Gruman and Didi, who also collaborated with the band on their full-length debut “Sands of Time” and their 2015 EP “Shadow.” The album features guest appearances by Gurdy, the Hellscore choir and England’s prestigious Westbrook Hay Prep School Chamber Choir.

Gruman was also featured as a guest lead vocalist on Therion’s latest record, “Leviathan” (Nuclear Blast), released in January 2021. This is in addition to an already-impressive list of recent guest vocal appearances, which also include Amorphis’ 2018 record “Queen of Time,” Orphaned Land’s 2018 album “Unsung Prophets and Dead Messiahs” and Ayreon’s recently released “Transitus.”

Israel’s leading progressive metal group, SCARDUST has performed at such major festivals as Ramblin’ Man Fair (UK), Metaldays (Slovenia) and Midi (China). In addition, the band hosts the annual “Scarfest” event in their home country, where they’ve also appeared alongside the likes of Therion, Epica and Symphony X.
