Death Metal Trio GUILLOTINE A.D.
In Search Of Bigfoot In New Video “I Want To Believe”

Music Video Features Expert Lyle Blackburn And Rare Bigfoot Footage

Southern death metal band GUILLOTINE A.D. – whose music blends the sounds of old-school Florida death metal, Scandinavian black metal, and New Orleans sludge into a wholly unique brew – release a brand-new music video for “I Want to Believe” today at https://youtu.be/Hq3eI0JfEms

“I Want to Believe” is a prime slab of Guillotine A.D.’s signature brand of southern death metal – the ferocity and atmosphere of Immortal melding seamlessly with the swagger and heft of Crowbar, delivered by a thundering 3-headed juggernaut that would make both High On Fire and Bolt Thrower proud.

The song was inspired by the movie ‘Willow Creek,’ and the video is fittingly an intensely creepy montage of band performance footage and Sasquatch sightings featuring an opening monologue from renowned cryptid researcher/author/filmmaker/musician Lyle Blackburn. The video also features a ripping guest guitar solo from Corey Flowers (Beast Mode/Jet Engine Dragons), Sasquatch howls recorded in the remote forests of Washington state, and previously unreleased footage of Bigfoot sightings. Guillotine A.D. has produced a chilling and heavy work of modern metal.

“’Will Creek’ is probably the best Bigfoot horror movie ever made. The lyrics to ‘I Want to Believe’ are inspired by that film,” explains guitarist Lance Miller. “Without giving away any spoilers, it doesn’t have a happy ending. We didn’t want to recreate the movie for the video, but it was fun making the video as a nod to the movie. It was an honor having Lyle Blackburn take part in the video. Also, thanks to Dave Shealy for providing his skunk ape footage, Alex CF for the drawings and to the Olympic Project for providing audio recordings for the song.”

“I Want to Believe” comes from the Athens, GA-based band’s latest album, ‘Born to Fall,’ which was originally released on CD and digital in early summer, but due to demand 200 limited copies were pressed on vinyl and releases Nov. 11th. ‘Born To Fall’ is available in stores, online at your favorite streaming/download app or order direct from our webstores or Bandcamp at www.smarturl.com/guillotinead

‘Born To Fall’ was recorded, mixed and mastered by Matt Washburn (Mastodon, Atheist, Withered) at LedBelly Sound Studio and features artwork by Eliran Kantor (Sodom, Trivium, Kataklysm).

The early roots of what is now known as GUILLOTINE A.D. first took shape in 2003, when brothers Adam & Lance Miller first formed the band, then known as GUILLOTINE, in their rural southwest Georgia town. The brothers initially grew up on ‘70s hard rock legends such as ZZ Top, AC/DC, Van Halen, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and came of age during the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, cutting their metal teeth on Shadows Fall and Lamb of God. Life saw the brothers soon head on different paths for the next decade, with GUILLOTINE going on pause during that time.

GUILLOTINE was reformed by the brother duo in 2015. Adam & Lance now took inspiration from the classic death metal of Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under, the New Orleans sludge of Crowbar and Eyehategod, and the Scandinavian black metal of Mayhem and early Enslaved. The duo soon followed that reformation with a re-location to Athens, Georgia, where they met drummer Evan Posey. The newly-materialized incarnation of the band became the perfect outlet for the updated direction that their music had taken. The band self-described the motivation of their new sound as wanting “to sound like if Obituary moved to New Orleans and tried to play down-tuned versions of Satyricon songs.”

GUILLOTINE’s self-titled and self-released debut album was released in October 2017. The group soon took their new sound to live stages all over the Southeast United States, supporting bands such as Goatwhore, Cannibal Corpse, Crowbar, Hate Eternal, Spirit Adrift, Cloak, Frozen Soul and Sanguisugabogg. The band also participated in Slaughter Que 2019, which was headlined by acts such as Exodus, Kataklysm, Exhorder, and more.
