BlüdRaven, one of the most promising bands in the Brazilian Heavy Metal scene, has released its new self-titled single, diving deep into the complexities of the human soul, reflecting on the search for meaning in life and inviting the listener to confront the uncertainties of a world seemingly falling apart.

In “BlüdRaven”, the band’s leader and founder, Lorenzo Marchetti, shares his own struggles and questions, making this release especially personal. He highlights: “The song ‘BlüdRaven’ represents a maturation and a step toward what I envision for the band and the future. It was the first composition written after the release of ‘Broken Vows’ and perhaps the most progressive one so far.”

“BlüdRaven” explores core themes that lie at the heart of the band: the relentless search for meaning in a world marked by uncertainty, and the pain of feeling lost and incomplete. Throughout the song, different settings and time periods are presented, but one element remains constant: solitude. The search for freedom is also addressed in a paradoxical way, as the lyrics themselves suggest that freedom can often become a prison.

“We are all slaves to something. In the end, the song doesn’t offer definitive answers but proposes a questioning perspective that, in a way, brings some comfort,” says Lorenzo.

The release of “BlüdRaven” marks another important step in the band’s journey, solidifying it as one of the great promises of national Heavy Metal. If the band’s goal was to provoke reflection and, at the same time, offer a sense of relief amidst the chaos, the single accomplishes its mission masterfully.

“It’s not a linear song — it takes us through unpredictable paths and is filled with details throughout its slightly over six-minute length,” notes a review from the Instagram profile Nerd Banger.

“BlüdRaven” is a composition by Lorenzo Marchetti and Guto Cardozo, with lyrics and vocals by Lorenzo Marchetti, and guitars, recording, and production by Guto Cardozo. The cover art for the single was created by Juh Leidl.

Lorenzo Marchetti was born in the Brazilian city of São José do Rio Preto-SP and later moved to Campinas-SP, where he spent his childhood and teenage years. From an early age, he showed interest in music. His restlessness and curiosity led him to study piano at the age of 7. However, due to some painful personal experiences, Lorenzo stepped away from music completely at age 11. He returned at 14, when he began taking singing lessons. Everything changed — in addition to singing, he resumed playing and composing. It was during his cousin’s band rehearsals that he had his first contact with the more extreme branches of Heavy Metal. At 17, he moved back to his hometown and began performing in bars, where he met many exceptional musicians who encouraged him to form his own band. That’s how BlüdRaven was born.
