The Italo-Brazilian Prog/Power Metal band Agathos has released its long-awaited second studio album, “The Red Storm Pt. II”, an ambitious concept work inspired by “O Crânio e o Corvo” (The Skull and the Raven), the second volume of the acclaimed Tormenta Trilogy.
Tormenta is a vast fantasy universe encompassing novels, comic books, RPG games, and other geek culture products. In The Skull and the Raven, we follow the journey of Orion Drake, a Knight of Light driven by a thirst for revenge against his own father, whose betrayal plunged his family into disgrace. The plot unfolds amid the advance of the Tormenta — a devastating blood storm that corrupts and destroys everything it touches.
This epic narrative comes to life in nine musical chapters, presented with a cinematic approach that fuses the power of Metal with grand orchestral arrangements, giving the album an intensely dramatic and immersive atmosphere.

Originally from the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre-RS and now based in Italy, guitarist and composer Renan Collatto began his musical journey at the age of 12, when he discovered his passion for the guitar and Heavy Metal. Since then, he has followed a steady path in music, performing in tribute bands and collaborating on original projects in Brazil, the Czech Republic, and Italy. With Agathos, Renan launched his solo career, channeling his creativity into original compositions and bringing together musicians from Italy, Brazil, and Argentina. The result is a Prog/Power Metal project that embraces epic melodies, complex arrangements, and an immersive, cinematic sound proposal.
The newly released album “The Red Storm Pt. II” features guitars and keyboards recorded by Renan Collatto, vocals by Airton Araujo, and drums by Alessandro Kelvin. The production was also handled by Renan, with mixing and mastering carried out at From Hellcords Studios. The project’s visual identity was developed by Alessandro Roos, who was responsible for the graphic art and promotional photos, while the video editing was handled by Sweep Blast Studios.
