What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?
-All of us discovered heavy metal when we were in our younger years and there is no turning back for a lot of us when we first do. We also have a great local metal scene up here in Trondheim, Norway so that was inspiring for us as youngsters as well.
Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
-There’s always some bumps in the road when doing music, but being seasoned musicians by this point we have also learned what not to do in a band. So being the grizzled old vets that we are by this point, we can confirm that Bazooka Troopaz is 100% drama-free.
What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
-We have all been in bands earlier here in Trondheim that we have had some highligts with, but with Bazooka Troopaz the release of our sophomore album ‘Scandinavian Head Splitter’ is pretty sweet!
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
-Beer slamming party thrash sums up Bazooka Troopaz pretty well we think.
What is your creative process like?
-There’s no rules or any formulas to follow for Bazooka Troopaz. What we usually have done is that Don Shrediablo brings some riffs and then we work out something from there. Our style has been beer-friendly thrash metal up until now and we’re not sick of the style yet, so we will continue with that style in the near future.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
-Well, we all agree that usage of tracks and backing tracks has gotten way out of hand in todays live performances. Going to a concert to see somebody lip-sync is not what we want to see in our heavy metal.
If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
-Hm, being as Bazooka Troopaz is only 1 year old we maybe don’t have the best advice to give the youngsters. If you want to make it then drinking less beer than Bazooka Troopaz would be a great tip though!
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
-Hm, since Bazooka Troopaz only has 1 gig under their belt we’ll go for that one when we supported the great Undertakers from Trondheim, Norway.
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
-We all have our dayjobs unfortunately, so even though it might seem that Bazooka Troopaz is living the good life, juiced to the gills and all, we still have to pay the bills somehow. Our spotify streams can maybe afford us 1 beer each in a month and we need to drink a whole lot more than that!
What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
-Well, our sophomore album ‘Scandinavian Head Splitter’ just dropped so go give that a spin if you havent allready! New material is always being created, but no plans to hit the studio yet! Thanks for the interview!
